"Beautiful Baby" - Doll Sculpting Basics
While in the "nesting stage", girls will prepare a diorama nursery using mixed media techniques. On Day
2, using doll sculpting basics, the girls will create their newborn from professional doll making clay. The finishing touches will be to go
to a make believe store to select newborn accessories.
This class has been completed, but will be back in the fall.

"Lights-Camera-Action" -Claymation Movie
Making
The class will include a variety of mediums to create the backdrop for the filming. The filming will include the use of a
digital camera to shoot a sequence of digital photos of the children's play characters. Collaborating with others, the children will
take on the roles of writer, creator and director to make a mini clay animated movie. Cameras not required for enrollment,
however, children may bring their own camera if they would like to.

"Say Cheese" - Photography Basics
Back due to its popularity last summer, learn step-by-step how to use a camera, frame a subject and create a
quality photo. Working in small groups, the children will practice the techniques they learn. Participants will receive a CD of their
photos in a special storage case they create with a fun photo transfer medium called Lazertran. Cameras not required for enrollment,
however, children may bring their own camera if they would like to. (New projects from last year)

"Wet 'N Wooly" - Pet Portraits Using Wet Felting Techniques
The children will create a color drawing of a pet of their choice. Using bright colored roving (sheep's
wool), they will wet felt it into a fabric portrait. Once the felted portrait is complete, the children will embellish it with their
choice of beads, sequins, buttons, and more. (Camp completed)

"Quack Up The Glass" - Mosaic Making
Silly name? Yes! But fun too! While learning the basic skills of mosaic making, the children
will create a mosaic duck using glass beads and tiles. The finished piece can be used as a decorative element indoors or out.

"Cool Clay Creations" - Using Both Polymer & Air Dry Clay
Ignite your imagination by transforming a batch of colorful polymer clay into a creative one-of-a-kind light switch for your
bedroom. We will shape, mold and bake the clay to your de-"light". In addition, try out a different kind of clay that will air
dry to harden and can then be painted to reflect your design style.

"Cast-Away" - Paper Casting with Paper Pulp
After selecting a fun beach inspired object (shell, fish, octopus, etc.), to sculpt out of clay, the children
will make their own plaster mold. This casting mold will then be used to create the beach themed image the child selected. The art
will be an original and can be framed or hung "as is" in the home.

"Beads, Baubles, Boys and Girls" - Beading & Wire Wrapping
In this camp, we will consider the elements of color and line to create interesting patterns using beads and wire. One
of the projects we will make will be a wire handled vase that can be hung indoors or outdoors. It is great fun to bend, twist and
maneuver the wire until it is pleasing to your eye. The children will also enjoy using a variety of beading tools under the safe
guidance of the teacher.

"Paper Play" - Origami, Paper Folding, Pop-Up & Design
Playing with paper to see what you can make out of it, is so much fun. Using traditional paper
folding techniques, we will make some unique items that you can use to embellish cards, turn into ornaments or use as a finished piece
of artwork. Children who bring in $1-dollar-bills$ can trade Mrs. Meghan for fresh new bills that can be folded for fun and returned
home.

For parents needing extended child care hours, Paramount is offering SPLAT Studio students early
care from 9 to 9:30 and aftercare from 11:30 to 2:00 at $5/hour. Campers arriving at 9:00, will be checked into the Kidmazium by their
parents and Mrs. Meghan or a SPLAT Staff member will get the children at the camp start time. For children whose parents have made advanced
payment, a SPLAT member will check the children into the Kidmazium at 11:30. Payment for extended child care should be made payable
to: Paramount Sports Complex.
