LVAEYC Children's Festival
SPLAT Studio attended the Children's Festival in March. It was a fun time of meeting new faces and
seeing familiar ones. The children enjoyed the make-and-take papermaking project.
Milton Hershey Field Trip
On Wednesday, April 14, SPLAT Studio preschoolers and parents visited Milton Hershey's Founders Hall. During the field
trip, the children were guided on a tour by Charlie Dodson and learned how Milton Hershey started the Industrial School. The kids had fun
looking at two collaborative paintings. One was a 45 panel mural, which depicts the 100 year history of the school. Mrs. Meghan also
read the book, "What Is an Artist" to the children. It was a wonderful field trip and we thank Mr. Dodson and Mr. Kinney for making it
possible.
Pillowcase Derby
On Saturday, April 17, we were out in the Community at the Pillows-of-Love Pillowcase Derby. Children who
visited our booth made paper pulp ornaments shaped as "helping hands" and "healing hearts". It was a wonderful time meeting new faces and
seeing familiar ones. Children who participated in the Derby walked, skipped, hopped, and ran around the derby track for the purpose of
raising money to make pillowcases for women and children who are in shelters.
P.E.T.E. & C Conference

Hershey. Sir Ken Robinson, Ph.D., was the keynote speaker and he is the author of The Element: How Finding Your Passion
Changes Everything. We encourage you to visit his website at www.sirkenrobinson.com.
