May 10 - Digital Photography Basics

Are you looking to take beautiful pictures, but don’t know how to use your camera? Christina Moyer, local photographer, will teach you about photo composition, camera settings, lighting and the dos and don’ts of taking pictures by sharing her own experience through pictures and stories. Resources will be provided on editing, storing and printing your photos.

Things to bring to class:

  • Camera
  • Manual
  • Charged or Extra Batteries
  • Memory Card Installed in Camera
  • Photos Optional - You will need 2 photographs to use for the photo transfer processes
  • A piece of glassware or ceramic wear to be use during the last class (We will discuss your options during the first class for some appropriate selections for you to buy or bring from home.)

 

 

May 17 - Soft Gel Medium Transfer to Canvas

Looking for a different and easy way to display your photos  Under the guidance of Meghan’s creative direction, explore the process of soft gel medium transfer and learn how you can give your photos an arty look by embedding them onto canvas board.

 

 

 

 

May 24 – Photo Shoot and Dinner at Kettering Corner

outdoor photo shootIf you choose… The night will begin by meeting at 6:00 at Kettering corner for a sandwich style dinner and review of how to take quality photos. Pre-orders for sandwich selections will be given at the first and second classes. Money will be collected at the time of order.

For those who can only arrive at 7:00, we will meet at Kettering Corner by the town clock to begin our walking and photo tour of Annville. Participants will experiment taking their own photos and if interested, will be able to get immediate feedback from Christina regarding the use of their camera and the techniques covered in the instruction. Favorite stops will include The Allen Theatre, The LVC Peace Garden and whatever else we discover in our travels.

 

 

 

May 31- Transfer Medium to Ceramic or Glass

During our last class, participants will learn yet another unique process in preserving your cherished photos. Using your pictures on either a glass or ceramic item such as a plate, jar, vase, etc., participants will make their own hand-made photographic piece to add to their home décor.

 

 

 

 

Note: There has been a lot of interest in this class, however, space is limited so sign up soon! Early registration lets us know how many people are coming so that materials can be prepared in advance to afford you a quality experience!

 

Payment is accepted by cash, check or credit card via Paypal below.  To register, please fill out a Registration Form and SPLAT Studio Waiver/Medical release form for each participant.  Your payment, along with the forms, may be dropped off in the gray drop box at the entrance of the studio or mailed to:  SPLAT Studio, P.O. Box 524, Palmyra, PA  17078.  Your payment is your confirmation.  No phone or email sign-ups will be accepted without payment.
